Happy Thanksgiving Everyone – <><
From vintage to a fixie commuter. This was to be my offseason project. But for some reason when I work on a bike my imagination wants to be fulfilled with immediate gratification. So it only took me a month and a half.
The frame, seatpost, and stem come from my dad’s 1962 Schwinn Varsity bicycle that he bought the summer after he graduated from high school. He bought the bike so that he had transportation to work. I stripped it down to the frame, sandblasted it, and had it powder-coated. I had to use a bottom bracket converter kit so that I could use a 107 mm bb. All the parts come from EIGTHINCH. Thanks guys for the hook-up.
I’ve put on about 20 miles just from commuting to work and back the last two days. the ride is a blast but I must say I now have the utmost respect for single speeders and even more respect for fixed gear rigs. My knee caps have almost gone thru my brain a time or two.
