Seeley Pre Fat

I will spare you the repetitive race report and instead show you a clip from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  It basically sums up my Pre Fat race in 15 seconds…

I was a man fighting with a sword among men with guns…that was my day.

On to the good stuff.

Pondering a worm...The summer has been hot, humid and wet and Ayden has been lovin it.  As the summer comes to an end one thing is for sure, Ayden will miss the puddles, the pools, and the nature hikes with grandma.

Minnesota State Fair

Every summer comes to an end with a trip to the Minnesota State Fair.  This year the whole family went, including Auntie Steph and Uncle Adam.  We consumed enough calories for a month and had a blast watching Ayden take in the fair.  Of all the things to look at, his favorite was the machinery and the dozers.  They were way cooler than any animal in a barn.

Summer fun in the sandbox.

Take your eye off of Ayden for one second...

Ragnar Relay

This past weekend was all about racing and it didn’t have anything to do about me racing.  This weekend was all about my wife’s race, the Ragnar Relay.  And considering how much support she gives me throughout the season it was fitting that I was able to return the favor, even if it was for only one race.  but mind you, it was a 28 hr race.  So here is the gist of an insane adventure that she put herself through…

I won't mention the team's name....

Ragnar Relay -

193 miles (Winona – Minneapolis)

12 team members (10 crazy teachers, 1 RN, 1 lawyer)

Each person runs three different legs (the 3rd leg being the hardest…that was a hint as to what the name of the team was)

2 vehicles (15 passenger van, 1 SUV)

Butt lights, reflective gear, headlamps

28 hrs and 36 minutes of running, having fun and making memories

Nikole's final leg - muggy, misty, and foggy morning

I don’t know how they did it but I was truly impressed with their passion, desire, and willingness to stick it out.  They are talking about next year already.  Congrats to my wife and to the rest of the team…it was fun watching.

Heading to the MN State Fair on Friday – for sure to be some great pics…stay tuned.

It has been sometime between posts.  So rather than bore you with random words that attempt to capture life artistic happening, I implore to enjoy the scenery instead…

Uncle Adam and Aunt Steph's wedding

My Brother and Steph got married last month.  The video below will sum up spoken and unspoken…use your imagination.

Lovin Life on the Pontoon

On the race front – raced this past weekend in the Border Battle.  Missed getting on the podium in my age by a couple of seconds.  Placed 24th overall.  It was the hottest race I’ve done this year.  This big one is just around the corner.  Oh yea…I did get registered for the Birkie 2011…
