It is the practical wisdom of recognizing what makes the most sense right here and right now. Laughter, together, riding, swimming, eating, running, yoga, pregnancy, crying, love, pain, school, and peace is our recognizing these days.
I’ve been riding quite a bit and the racing has been picking up. The support from Ayden and Nikole keeps me turning the crankset. Last Sunday was the WORS #3 Big Ring Classic in Wausau, WI. It was fast, fun and a great time with family and friends. Go HERE and HERE if you want to read up on the race.

On Saturday we loaded up the car and drove over to the Cities and take care of a couple of things…racing and IKEA shopping. The racing was fun and muddy and Ayden had a blast riding around the race venue on his own bike. By the time we loaded up the car and pulled away from the race he was out.
The main reason for the IKEA trip was because Ayden needed a “big boy” bed. And I am here to attest to the fact that shopping at IKEA with Ayden was harder than racing through the mud. Seriously. By the time we made it home we were all cashed and ready to spend the rest of the night on the couch and chillin. (Putting together the bed will have to be another blog post all together. Let’s just say it was very entertaining for Ayden and Nikole).
It is now Tuesday and Ayden has spent two nights in his new bed and he absolutely loves it. It is fun hearing his little fit jump down from his bed and the little pitter patter of his feet as he comes down to say good morning. Greatest way to start the day. But we are hoping that he continues to stay in his bed throughout the night. Fingers are crossed…
Nikole’s pregnancy is going great. She has been sick and tired quite a bit but she is looking forward to getting through this first trimester and feeling like a normal person again. Thanks for everyone’s encouragement and prayers. Life is good and God is good.

Sponsorships are coming together pretty well this season. So after getting my GEAR all lined up…I decided to contact crankbrothers and see what it took to get a sponsorship deal with them. Wouldn’t you know….Jason First from crankbrothers hooked me up with a sweet sponsorship deal. So last week I headed up to Spring Street Sports and picked up my new eggbeaters for the race season. I ridin the new eggbeater 3s. I will let you know what I think of them soon. I have never ridden anything different. I absolutely love the four-sided clippless pedal that allows you to clip in fast and with ease. These puppies are light and great for the kind of ridding I do.
So….sponsorships are coming together pretty well. First race of the season is this Sat. in Durand. Interested to see how the legs turn over….

It’s fun to read the blogs of pro-riders this time of year. Most riders are finishing up their first block of base training and are actually traveling a bit to get in some very early season racing. But one thing I notice this time of year is that many are blogging about how their “sponsorships are coming together for the season.” So I think cool…I wonder.
This winter I decided to contact some of my favorite bike companies and see what it would take to get sponsored as well as promote their products. First up, TWIN SIX. I contacted Ryan Carlson and before I knew it he was hooking me up with a great sponsorship. So now I got the apparel and gear that should make me look fast at the starting line. Seriously…it’s LEGIT
So what is TWIN SIX….
“First and foremost we are two designers who love to ride and believe that the time is overdue for better cycling jersey graphics. We are Twin Six, the graphic revolution in cycling apparel. It is our goal to be the alternative to everything else.
The gear we pull on is a statement of our style, identity and self. The industry’s slow uphill grind to better graphics has turned riders into unwilling billboards, moving color explosions and unfortunate cartoon characterizations. Twin Six has seen enough.
Twin Six jerseys carry graphics with a fashion DNA. Styles that spring from real graphic trends, not the predictable regurgitation of last year’s predictable regurgitation. Twin Six is two determined graphic doing what we do best, so we can finally ride with pride.”
Their gear and apparel are for racers, weekend warriors, and those just looking for some sweet t-shirts. Go HERE and check em out!
So I guess I can say – the sponsorships are coming together pretty well for the 2011 season.
